Abstract
These papers examined the relationship between the CEO and Board Members. Naturally there is a conflict of interest where CEOs are generally interested in the effectiveness of the organization with in their respective industry/location. The Board Members interest is to ensure the shareholder’s value remains and grow. The general trends of the current world’s economy suggest high uncertainty and ever increase risk. With this pressure test the strains of the relationship between these two parties. CEOs in general will use emotions and public support to have their goals accomplish, while Board Members will general use system or policy that were created with in an organization. Whichever side the coin lands all members that were interviewed unanimously agree that the bottom line must be maintained for the sake of the organization. The idea that attempting to falsify a theory will be a step closer to truth is the prevailing philosophy of this report. The two predictions were made was as follows. -If the global economy is shifting toward isolationism than organization will have a cash crunch and the two opposing conflict of interest will be exacerbated. -If the global economy goes back to trading with one another there will be a shift where shareholders will democratize and have greater influence within any given organization. This will make the conflict of interest between the CEO and Board Members insignificant.
