Chris Banister (MA TESOL) is a Senior Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes at Regent’s University London. He received his master’s degree from the Institute of Education at UCL, and also holds a Postgraduate Certificate of Higher Education. 

He currently teaches academic writing, sociolinguistics, professional writing, and business English, while also working with staff and students from across the university as an educational developer.  

His practitioner research, using the principles of Exploratory Practice, has focused on various aspects of language education, including peer feedback, decolonizing business English, and vocabulary teaching. He has published in several high-profile applied linguistics journals, including: The Journal of EAPLanguage Teaching Research and the English Language Teaching Journal and is an active member of the International Association of Applied Linguistics’ Fully Inclusive PR network.
