Chris is an Assistant Professor of Psychology whose research explores the cognitive and behavioural impact of digital technologies. Drawing on perspectives from cognitive psychology and cyberpsychology, his work examines how people process, interpret, and interact with digital forms of communication and virtual environments. His doctoral research investigated the effects of emoji on reading behaviour, language processing, and memory retrieval.

Current research interests include online communication, cyber-cognition, social media, virtual reality, gaming behaviour, digital identities, and human–AI interaction. Through experimental and interdisciplinary approaches, his work seeks to advance understanding of cognition and behaviour in contemporary digital contexts. 

Chris is a Chartered Psychologist and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
