Jana has been a visiting lecturer in Psychology at Regent’s University since 2014. Over more than 10 years she has taught a range of modules including Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Psychopathology and Psychology of Emotions. Earlier in her academic career she worked as a research assistant at Middlesex University, contributing to several research project and running developmental psychology workshops.
She holds a PhD in Psychology with a research focus on autism spectrum disorders and early interventions strategies for young children. She pioneered the introduction of modern approaches to autism in Slovakia and co-authored national guidelines for schools on understanding autism in education.
Alongside her work in academia, Jana runs a London-based private practice as a CBT therapist and evidence-based hypnotherapist. Her practice focuses on supporting adults with anxiety disorders as well as anxiety-related difficulties such as procrastination, perfectionism, and low self-confidence. Earlier in her career she also worked with children with autism and their families and during her clinical training, with adults in the treatment of addictions and eating disorders.
